Vanessa Levin offers a wide variety of information on her website. She shares ideas on classroom management, themes, centers, math, literacy, assessment, technology, teaching tips and printable s. Currently on her blog you will find 7 tips for reading aloud to kids , this is quite interesting. She also includes a clever way to display your books that I think would work great in the classroom. Also check out her links to Spider and Halloween activities for math and healthy classroom parties.
Hello Debbie.
ReplyDeleteI agree that this blog has some great information on literacy. I think it is good to read a book more than once to help the child with their language skills. The part that I struggle with personally is being afraid of wordless picture books. I usually avoid those books because I do not always know what to say, but in the blog there are some good questions that can be asked to help the children improve their thinking skills. I do think the way the books are displayed is a great idea too.
Diana, Vanessa Levin posts some really good activities and ideas. Visit her website when you get a chance and check them out. Many of them are free. Debbie
ReplyDeleteHello Debbie,
ReplyDeleteI enjoy your blog and the information that you have provided was great. I also feel as a teacher in order to be effective you have to learn and share ideas from others. The book I like to use for my preschool children is Shake Dem Halloween bones, also have an activity to use that children will use as a part of literacy and science. Also thanks for the ideas when have parties. I love the displays of the books as well. Thanks for sharing!!!
Dionne, Check out Dem Bones on youtube it's a great activity that the kids love and it gets them moving. Debbie
